General Motors Europe (GME) and DuPont Refinish signed an agreement on 1 January 2010 in which the paint brand has been officially approved to supply its products for body repairs on GME’s Opel and Vauxhall brands as a participant in the GME Body and Paint Program. The agreement, based on numerous product tests done by GME, demonstrates the trust the company has in DuPont Refinish products and the belief that the professional and technical know-how DuPont Refinish possesses is of value to GME bodyshops, helping them become more productive. This agreement, however, goes further than a simple supplier approval: DuPont Refinish will become integrated in many of the GME systems and process. DuPont Refinish will help GM dealers and their networks of approved bodyshops with all after sales warranty and service support, and provide all authorised Opel and Vauxhall repairers with ongoing product training to ensure each bodyshop benefits from maximum productivity gains. GME will provide access to its central billing process with a remuneration agreement through Web Tool for Vendors (WTV), which is part of the GME IT portfolio. DuPont Refinish can access this tool through a web browser which allows it easy tracking of orders as well as faster and direct invoicing to the authorised repairers. Ulrich Bathke, DuPont Refinish loyalty and OEM approvals manager, comments, “this is a very important step forward between DuPont Refinish and GME. It proves that our high standards and our continual goal of increased productivity are of value to a brand as important and globally recognised as General Motors. We hope this agreement will be long-lasting and mutually beneficial.” |
